A Registered Yoga School (RYS) is a distinction given to yoga teacher training that meets Yoga Alliance Standards. To be eligible for registering as an RYS, the yoga school’s curriculum has to comply with Yoga Alliance certification standards.
A Registered Yoga Teacher (RYT) credential is earned by yoga teachers whose training and teaching experience meet Yoga Alliance standards. An RYT must complete training with and receive confirmation from a Registered Yoga School (RYS) at the 200 or 500-hour level. The 200 indicates the number of training hours required for this level of certification.
